Summer on Benmore Estate

Sunshine, superb fishing and island hopping… there’s nothing quite like summer on Mull. It’s August on the Benmore Estate and what a summer we have had so far.

From families and friends coming together in Knock House to smaller groups and couples visiting our cosy cottages for the perfect island getaway. Our newest venture, Island Pods was launched this season, with 10 glamping pods perfectly situated for couples to escape the hustle and bustle.

Fishing

A wonderful capture of our Knock House guests enjoying some trout fishing on Loch Bearnach.

Situated 300 feet above Loch Spelve, Loch Bearnach is a wonderful hidden hill loch that provides prolific trout fishing.

Loch Ba has also been a hotspot for trot and salmon fishing this year, followed by summer BBQs and clay pigeon shooting at the fishing bothy.

Sea Fishing

Mackerel, Pollock and Coalfish are commonly found in the waters surrounding the island. Venture further afield to the Firth of Lorn and Tiree Passage and there are some of the best marks in UK waters for Flapper and Blue Skate.

Nothing compares to being out on the emerald waters, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and uninhabited islands with a fishing rod in hand.

Whether it’s a day’s hire for a romantic picnic or a weekend adventure, we have a bicycle to suit your needs. Our fleet of bicycles include 6 mountain bikes as well as 4 hybrid E-bikes. When you hire a bike a helmet is included as standard.

Our E-Bikes are the sleek and sophisticated Cube reaction hybrid bikes with large 500 or 625Wh battery packs. You will barely notice the battery concealed in the frame, but you will definitely recognise the power as these bikes will be able to power your biking all day (up to 75 miles) on a single charge.
