Welcome to Benmore Estate
Situated at the heart of the Isle of Mull, The Benmore Estate sits in some of Scotland’s most spectacular scenery.
Beyond the guest experience, Benmore Estate is driven by a deep sense of responsibility to the land, its history, and its future. We work hard as custodians of this remarkable corner of Scotland: preserving its rich heritage, educating and inspiring those who visit, and striving towards environmental and financial sustainability for generations to come.

benmore’s history
A rich Scottish history
Benmore Estate is steeped in a history as rich and dramatic as the landscape itself. From its origins in the territorial dominions of the MacLeans of Duart, through almost 300 years of Argyll ownership, the estate has borne witness to some of Scotland’s most compelling stories and people. Among them Princess Louise, daughter of Queen Victoria.

Sustainability
At Benmore Estate, sustainability is not a recent commitment. As custodians of over 30,000 acres of Mull’s wilderness, our purpose is to restore and enhance the biodiversity of the land, lochs and coastline in our care. We know this will take decades and we are fully invested in delivering it. In doing so, we aim to create lasting benefits for local communities and visitors alike: better habitats, better recreation and a landscape that continues to thrive for generations to come.

Glenforsa Cafe & Farm Shop
The Glenforsa Café and Farm Shop is Benmore Estate’s latest enterprise. Situated on the banks of the beautiful River Forsa, we offer relaxed brunch and lunch throughout the season. Don’t miss our fantastic scenic terrace for dining alfresco on those sunny days and our beautiful barn-style interiors. The shop is stocked full of goodies to take home with you. Enjoy!

Made for exploring
Based on Mull’s wild west coast, Benmore Estate is the perfect base for exploring the island’s coastlines, hills and quieter corners, with easy access to all that Mull has to offer.
