Surrounded by the spectacular scenery of Mull and its neighbouring islands, we offer an excellent stalking experience on the Benmore Estate.
Benmore Estate offers some of the most varied stalking terrain, providing the perfect hunting grounds for those wishing to enjoy the most traditional Highland sporting activity.
Traditional methods of stalking red deer in Scotland have remained unchanged for centuries and they continue to this day. At Benmore Estate we aim to balance the wild deer population through selective culling which in turn promotes a healthy and productive deer population. Hinds are selected to favour those with good confirmation and strong calves.
Our experienced stalkers, Donald, Andrew and Angus will accompany and guide you on the hill, offering expert advice when required. Recovering the deer carcass is often by dragging and argocat, and afterwards they are taken to our own refrigerated larder for processing. Guests are welcome to use an estate rifle.
We reserve all stags for Knock House and Benmore Lodge guests. However, Hind Stalking is available from October until February, and available for all. Hind stalking can be challenging especially during the changeable weather and shorter daylight hours throughout winter but it can also be incredibly rewarding. We can accommodate up to 3 stalking parties on the hill per day.
