
BY ROAD
From Glasgow, take the A82 to Crianlarich then Tyndrum. Then the A85 to Oban. (Oban to Glasgow 92 miles, allow 2-3 hours).
From Edinburgh or Perth, aim for Stirling and take the A84 to Lochearnhead, then A85 via Crainlarich and Tyndrum to Oban.
From the North, Fort William take the A82 to the Connell Bridge across Loch Leven, then A828 to Oban. This is a very nice route along the western seaboard.
Alternatively, (coming from the North) take the beautiful but longer route out of Fort William, along Loch Eil (A830) via Glenfinnan* and go through Moidart and Sunart to Strontian. Then take the A884 to Lochaline where a smaller CalMac ferry takes only 15 minutes to cross the Sound of Mull to Fishnish.
*Bonnie Prince Charlie landed in Moidart and raised the standard at Glenfinnan at the head of the Jacobite army signalling the start of the 1745 rebellion.
BY AIR
There are many direct flight connections from London or other European cities to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
From either city, both ScotRail (0345-484950) and Scottish Citylink (0990-505050) operate train and bus services respectively to Oban three times daily.
For those wishing to arrive at the estate by helicopter, charters can be arranged through PDG Helicopters on 01667 464 409.
BY TRAIN
There is a nine and a half hour train service from London direct to Oban.
BY FERRY
The island of Mull is accessed by ferry from Oban. Ferries run regularly throughout the summer with a more restricted timetable during the winter months and it is imperative to book well in advance if you are planning to bring a car to the island. The ferry operator is Caledonian MacBrayne and they can be contacted on either 01631 566688 or 08705 650000. Alternatively, reservations can be made on their website

The ferry journey takes approxmately 45 from Oban and it is advisable to be there at least 45 minutes prior to your scheduled sailing. Once on the island, the journey to Knock House takes approximately 25 minutes.
